Reading Comprehension Instruction

This course focuses on the research and exemplary practices that help students acquire strong reading comprehension skills. It provides participants with a synthesis of the research base on reading comprehension instruction and vocabulary development. This course is appropriate for all K-12 teachers who need to help increase their students’ comprehension of text—whether that text is a literature selection or a subject area textbook.

Classes will meet every other Wednesday, starting on January 13, 2016.

All classes will meet on the 3rd floor of the Union Office from 4:15-7:15

If you have a masters degree, then 2 hours of credit toward salary credit and license renewal will be granted based upon attendance and reflections.  Reading is also required between sessions.  If you have not earned a masters degree then the 30 seat hours may be used for license renewal.
