Update - January 13, 2009

Payday. This Friday, January 16th, is the pay date that will include the retroactive payment from August through December 2008 for the raises negotiated in our new contract.   Your January 2nd pay included a 2.5% raise for the first 2009 pay period.

The retroactive pay can be calculated by subtracting your gross pay on December 19, 2008 from your gross pay of January 2, 2009 and multiplying the difference times 8 (the number of pays we have received since the start of the school year), or times 9 if you are a 200 day employee (counselors, psychologists, Teacher Leaders, etc.). You could also use the same formula on your net pay assuming your deductions have not changed. Union dues will increase by $1.00 per paycheck. Dues are set by vote of the Executive Board and are based on a percentage of the BA Minimum salary.

We have a table that displays the actual retroactive amounts based on salary steps and academic lanes on the home page of our website. Go to  www.chtu.org and click on “Retroactive Pay”. You can also review the salary schedules for all three years of the new contract (2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11) on our union website. Click on “Salary Schedules” by the FAQ’s on the home page.

Fraternally,
