CHTU Update - October 23, 2019 Insurance, Master Teacher, Observer article

Dear Colleagues,

At the Insurance Committee meeting yesterday, I learned that the district is trying to arrange for a company to come in to give Flu Shots during the election day PD at the high school.  Our hope is that there is a room set aside where anyone can drop in and get a shot.  If you want to get a flu shot ahead it should be covered through a doctor's office or convenience clinic.

I also learned that telemedicine is already available through our policy, whereas I thought we would have to wait until January's policy renewal.  I will get info out on how to use this benefit.

Other changes in our health insurance won't be in place until January, so there is time to get information out to you.  These include added preventative care, the ER copay if you go when there is not an emergency, and the change in our prescription copays.  I will publish about each of these before they take effect.

If you are a 200 or 220 day member then you should have received the form you use to document 15 hours of work outside of your normal work day.

The Master Teacher informational meeting is November 14. Click here (link) for the flyer.

We are still editing the current version of our contracts.  I will publish them when we are ready.  Hopefully soon.

Interested in my Heights Observer article for October?  Click here (link) for a story about technology changes over time in the district (and yes that is a large slide rule in the picture)
