To All CHTU Members:
Local 795 Website. Please take the time to visit our Union website at We have added a section on FAQ’s regarding various contractual deadlines for items such as tenure requirements, salary credit for course work, retirement incentive as well as pay rates for various additional duties (substitute coverage, curriculum writing, etc.). You can also download insurance forms directly from our website links. In addition, you can access updates on grievances and other matters under the “Grievance Update” and “Our Issues” tabs.
Prescription Drugs. Remember that the reimbursement of prescription drug co-payments ends December 31st. Prescriptions filled January 1st  and thereafter will not be eligible for co-payment reimbursement. The reimbursement form is available for downloading from our website. 
Monitors Contract. Our security monitors are still working without a contract. Since our security staff is prohibited by law from striking, the monitors’ contract will be settled by an arbitrator who will set the binding terms of a new agreement.    Union and management have agreed on an arbitrator, but we have not been offered arbitration dates at this point.     
The Union Office-Winter Break. The Union Office will be open throughout winter break. Please call if you need an appointment as our business hours will be reduced and intermittent.
Winter Break. Wishing you an enjoyable winter break and festive holiday season, both of which are richly deserved. Hope 2009 is a great year for you and your families.
