David Quolke, President of the Cleveland Teachers Union, reported out on the Diane Ravitch event last week in the link below. I fully reccomend reading Quolke's report and moreover, I suggest reading Ravtich herself through her blogs or books. She has evolved into one of the foremost teacher advocates around - she gets it. If we want public education to continue in this country we all need to be informed and vocal. Ravitch and her research give us the tools for the job.
