Dear Colleagues,
Please look over the September Executive Board report.  Our meeting will be held on Thursday, September 19 at 4:00 PM at our CHTU office.  All members are welcome or you can send questions with your building representatives.

Dear Colleagues,

Thank you to all who were able to stay after the extended Convocation.  I realize that many of you needed to return to your buildings, especially to middle schools.  If you have not voted on our contract offer please get ballots AND stubs to our office by Thursday, August 22 - which happens to be the same day as our next Executive Board meeting. I am sure steward can bring ballots and stubs to the office to save you a trip.

COMMITTEE REPORTS


ARC (Appraisal Review Committee):  Three ARC members will be attending a training session at the ESC in late May to learn more about being part of the pilot for the new OTES for 2019-20.  This new system, going into place in 2020-21 will not have a separate 50% of teacher evaluation made from Student Growth Measures, but will incorporate SGMs into the other half of the rubric.

ARC (Appraisal Review Committee):  Met March 18 to discuss pre-conference standardization as well as to be looking ahead to determine if we want to participate in the OTES pilot for 2019-20

CCES (Cuyahoga County Educators Summit).  The January 24 meeting was with State School Board members.  The April 11 is a social gathering.

DISCIPLINE:  Next meeting April 3.

DLT (District Leadership Team): Next meeting April 24.

ER&D (Educational Research and Dissemination): Registration has begun online (link) and can be paid by check or paypal.

DISCIPLINE: Met December 5.  OCR says our plan in compliance with what was requested.  Still unsure when we will have to implement the new Student Code of Conduct.  Next meeting February 6.


DLT (District Leadership Team): The November 28 meeting was cancelled. A meeting was held in December.


ER&D (Educational Research and Dissemination):  Flyers for our spring offering will be coming out shortly.  We are paypal active, so members can choose to pay online with a $5 fee.

ER&D (Educational Research and Dissemination):  ER&D instructors presented snapshots of their courses at the November 6 PD day.


GRADING TASK FORCE:  Last met October 7.  Reviewed objective of the task force, conducted a webinar with Doug Reeves on good practices, will be creating a grading survey.  Meeting November 14.


INSURANCE:  We are still under the Express Care Online pilot through December.

ARC (Appraisal Review Committee): Nothing new. October 24 was set aside as a meeting date, but there is no reason to meet at this time.


DISCIPLINE: The Student Code of Conduct should be rolling out sometime during this school year.  The district is awaiting approval from the Office of Civil Rights. The first Student Discipline meeting was held October 3 to get back on track.  Next meeting December 5.


DLT (District Leadership Team): Next meeting Wednesday, October 24.
